THRISSUR: BJP has alleged that former BJP office secretary Tirur Satheesh fell for the CPM's offer in the Kodakara hawala case. BJP said that CPM is behind the recent revelations. CPM leader MK Kannan is the president of Thrissur Service Co-operative Bank. BJP has alleged that Satish has a home loan here and he fell for the offer of waiving it.

The revelations came after former minister AC Moideen and CPM leader MK Kannan met Satheesh at a hotel in Thrissur. The BJP leadership says that the people's support the BJP is getting in Palakkad and Chelakkara constituencies is frightening the CPM and these false stories are part of that.

BJP leaders pointed out that Satheesh himself had earlier said that he had taken a loan of Rs 19 lakh from the Thrissur Service Co-operative Bank for the construction of a house, which has now gone up to Rs 21 lakh. The house in Kokkulangara is now facing attachment proceedings. The leaders also pointed out that Satheesh had said that the bankers had come for attachment several times. BJP leader Sobha Surendran had also raised allegations about the bank loan in Thrissur and the involvement of MK Kannan.

It was in this context that the CPM promised to exempt Tirur Satheesh, who was expelled from the BJP, from confiscation for the time being and waive off the loan later after the elections. The CPM has also assured the house and the family the protection of local activists. At present, police have been deployed at Tirur Satheesh's house.
