'Plus one seat issue being projected unnecessarily, MSF conducting planned strike'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty has said that MSF is planning the strike in the plus one seat crisis in Malabar. The minister also informed that 49,906 plus one seats have been admitted in Malappuram so far. He said in a press conference that 10,897 people have not got admission despite getting allotment.

'14,037 students are now waiting for Plus One admission. MSF is conducting a planned strike. The issue is being projected unnecessarily by the media' - said Sivankutty. The MSF protest continues following the seat crisis. Police stopped the march of the activists in front of Malappuram RDD office. There was a scuffle between the police and the activists. Following this, the protesters were forcibly removed by the police.

Meanwhile, protests were held in Kozhikode and Malappuram on the previous day under the leadership of SFI and KSU. The KSU march in front of the Kozhikode Commissioner's Office had a huge conflict. SFI has also announced that if the current crisis is not resolved, it will go on a strong strike.

There was also an altercation with the police during the protest strike by MSF in Malappuram. The protests were held in front of the Malappuram and Kozhikode Education Department offices. SFI All India President VP Sanu has also demanded that the issue be resolved by releasing additional batches. A petition has been submitted to Education Minister V Sivankutty in this regard. VP Sanu said that the minister has assured to find a solution. It is a reality that there are not enough seats for the students. Sanu stated that Malappuram is also facing difficulties in studying the courses of their choice.

Sanu has announced that there should be a judicial inquiry led by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court on the issue of the NEET exam question paper leak. He also said that minister Dharmendra Pradhan should take moral responsibility and resign. Sanu said the National Testing Agency should be dissolved and those who took the exam should be compensated.
