S Rajendran to accept BJP membership from Rajeev Chandrasekhar today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM leader and former Devikulam MLA S Rajendran will officially accept BJP membership from state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar at the party’s state headquarters in the capital city today. Rajendran was suspended from the party for a year based on the complaint of trying to defeat A Raja, CPM candidate of Devikulam constituency in January 2022.

The membership was not renewed even after the tenure of his suspension. Since then, there were speculations that Rajendran would leave the party. Rajendran had earlier met Rajeev Chandrasekhar. It was also reported that four common demands were put forward in this meeting. S Rajendran was the face of the CPM in Munnar. He was three-time Devikulam MLA and party district committee member.
