KOZHIKODE: Working committee member Shashi Tharoor MP is unlikely to participate in the Palestine solidarity rally organized by the Congress. Tharoor's name was not included in the programme's inaugural or keynote speakers.

AICC general secretary K C Venugopal will inaugurate Congress's Palestine Rally in Kozhikode on November 23. KPCC president K Sudhakaran will attend the function. Opposition leader V D Satheesan, Muslim League state president Sadiqali Shihab Thangal and Muslim League national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty are the speakers. Even if Tharoor comes as a member of the working committee, his turn will be the last among the speakers.

Leaders including K Sudhakaran and V D Satheesan are of the view that Tharoor should not be participated in the wake of his controversial speech in the League rally. There are less chances for Tharoor to participate in the rally as he has a family function.

Meantime, senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan said that it is up to the organizers to decide whether Tharoor should participate in the rally. Muraleedharan alleged that Tharoor's statement in the rally was causing problems.

Tharoor should correct his statement and expect him to do so. Congress does not accept Tharoor's statement. Congress has not added water to Palestine issue. What the chief minister is saying is a lie. K Muraleedharan accused the chief minister of trying to divide the people.
