'Sudhakaran's remark is serious, party will look into it': Satheesan says Cong will not compromise its secular stand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: VD Satheesan, Congress leader and leader of the opposition, on Tuesday said that KPCC president K Sudhakaran's remark on Jawaharlal Nehru is serious. He said that the controversial remark will be investigated in detail.

VD Satheesan said that there were frequent complaints that the KPCC chairman are making such remarks. "There will be talks with all constituents who objected to the remarmk. Congress will not have the approach of compromising secular stance", he said.

K Sudhakaran's controversial remark was made at the 'Navodhana Sadass' in Kannur on Monday. His remark was that Nehru was ready to make peace with communal fascism by making RSS leader Shyamaprasad Mukherjee a minister. After the incident became controversial, Sudhakaran gave an explanation that it was a slip of the tongue.
