THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Supplyco has suspended employees at the Maveli Custodian posts in the Parakode, Mavelikara, and Neyyattinkara depots for not ensuring an adequate stock of subsidised goods. In January, the central office had instructed the depots to report their requirements for subsidised goods for February sales. However, the employees from the Maveli Custodian posts at these depots indicated that there was no need for various subsidised items.

As a result of this oversight, the depots experienced shortages of goods in February and were unable to distribute them to the public. The Parakode and Neyyattinkara depots were each out of stock on five subsidized items, including green gram, coriander, and chili, while the Mavelikkara depot reported shortages of eight items.

The employees suspended for failing to perform their duties responsibly include Senior Assistant R. Premnath from the Mavelikkara depot, Junior Assistant Vishnu V. Dev from the Neyyattinkara depot, and Senior Assistant A. Sanithakumari from the Parakode depot. This action was taken following an order issued by Supplyco's Additional General Manager (Personnel and Administration).
