Education Minister V Sivankutty has stated that Union Minister Suresh Gopi is not deserving of his position. He remarked that the wound inflicted on the Dalit community through Suresh Gopi's words cannot be healed merely with an expression of regret. He further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should intervene and remove Suresh Gopi from his position. Sivankutty also mocked that Suresh Gopi was someone who should have been a minister during the era of monarchy.
Sivankutty's words:
"Union Minister Suresh Gopi, who insulted the Dalit community, is not deserving of his position. By insulting great leaders and figures, including the President of India, who have proven their abilities through exemplary works, Suresh Gopi's casteist mindset has been exposed. Many great individuals, including Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of India's Constitution, and former President KR Narayanan, have led India forward.
The wound inflicted on the Dalit community cannot be healed by merely expressing regret. Prime Minister Modi must intervene and remove Suresh Gopi from that position. Suresh Gopi is a person who should have been a minister during the era of monarchy. He is someone who lives through the media. Minister George Kurian is a person who has no common understanding of the development of Kerala. Various central government studies have proven that Kerala is number one in all sectors like education, health, law and order, sanitation, and worker welfare.
Despite the central government's neglect, the government led by Pinarayi Vijayan has achieved model results for the country in the past 9 years. Any attempt to undermine this progress will not work in Kerala. The union minister seems to view central funds as his personal property. He has set conditions for allocating central funds, claiming that if Kerala announces itself as the lowest in every field, the central government will show generosity in providing funds.
This year, the Chief Minister is going to declare Kerala as the state without extremely poor people. Even though the BJP-led states receive billions in central funds, they cannot match Kerala’s progress. The position taken by the Union Minister is highly objectionable. He should withdraw his statement and publicly apologize. The Kerala public will reject the statement of a Union Minister who has not made any intervention for the development of Kerala."
