'Anything that unites people should be encouraged'; Jaleel responds to Samastha's stand on football frenzy

Former minister KT Jaleel has reacted to Samastha's stand against the World Cup football frenzy. In his Facebook post, Jaleel wrote that at a time when efforts are being made to divide people over many things, anything that unites people should be encouraged. He also stated that it is lovely to see the world making noise for football without distinctions of country and language

'If football is being criticized for extravagance, then extravagant weddings, luxury cars and houses should also be criticized. Arches and decorations that are erected during religious functions and festivals also come under the category of extravagance. There is a mystery in the claim that only extravagance in the name of football is unjust while extravagance in the name of spirituality is justified,' Jaleel wrote. Jaleel also shared a video showing Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal playing football along with his Facebook post.
