'Friends, some twist in plot'; Excise responds to Kozhikode youngster's viral vlog

KOZHIKODE: Meppayur native Vishnu, while uploading his vlog promoting drug use, thought little that the excise officials would be at his house soon. The video appeared on the account 'Mr Budhan', which is Vishnu's username. In the video, Vishnu displayed a small packet containing white powder. Vishnu boasted in the video that he had bought the stuff with his own money and challenged the officials to take action against him.

Within hours, the Excise reached Vishnu’s doorstep to question him over the video. Vishnu had a hard time convincing the officials that it was indeed rock salt, which he demonstrated as drugs in the video. Very soon, another video appeared on Vishnu’s Instagram page, with police also in the background. In the video, Vishnu apologised and confessed that he had duped the audience with a previous video to gain traffic on social media. The youngster also asked the youths not to indulge in drugs.

Vishnu also promised his viewers that henceforth he would only upload morally upright videos that fit the mores upheld by society.
