'My gratitude to the country, people and government for honouring me'; Mammootty with Facebook note after receiving Padma Bhushan

Actor Mammootty expressed his gratitude for receiving the Padma Bhushan award. He shared a post on Facebook expressing his gratitude to the country, people and government for honouring him with the award.

The post, which begins with 'Thank you to the motherland', ends with Republic Day greetings.

The Padma awards were announced yesterday as part of Republic Day. Former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, Justice KT Thomas, and P Narayanan, former editor of Janmabhoomi and one of the early leaders of the RSS, were awarded the Padma Vibhushan. Three of the five Padma Bhushan recipients, including Mammootty, were Malayalis.
