Kochi Police register case against director Sanoj Mishra over viral Kumbh Mela star's complaint

KOCHI: The girl who became a viral sensation during the Kumbh Mela has filed a sexual harassment complaint against Sanoj Mishra, a director from Uttar Pradesh. She submitted the complaint in person at the Ernakulam Central Police Station.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred in 2025 on the sets of her debut film, 'The Diary of Manipur'. She alleged that the director touched her inappropriately multiple times with ill intentions. She further stated that she was a minor at the time of the incident.

The Kochi Police registered an FIR, including charges under the POCSO Act, and transferred the case to the Madhya Pradesh Police for further investigation. The Ernakulam Magistrate Court recorded the girl's confidential statement on Thursday evening.

The girl also alleged that Sanoj Mishra has been constantly harassing her on social media following her marriage to Farman Khan. She claims he is behind the legal cases filed against her in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, she has filed complaints against four others, including VHP leader Anil Vilayil, for social media posts alleging "Love Jihad."

The couple got married in Thiruvananthapuram earlier this year. Following allegations of child marriage, the Madhya Pradesh Police had conducted an investigation in Kochi. The girl, who had gone into hiding during that time, surfaced only after the MP police team left Kerala. A copy of the FIR has been submitted to the Ernakulam POCSO Court, and further court orders will be forwarded to the Madhya Pradesh Police. The girl maintains that she was 18 years old at the time of her marriage. Meanwhile, the High Court has temporarily stayed the arrest of the couple.
