The Chinese are famous for serving very diverse cuisine. Even animals that many other countries are afraid to eat are turned into delicious dishes in China. Now, a thing that makes many frown is trending in Chinese cuisine.

A dessert made with elephant dung served at a restaurant in Shanghai, China, is gaining fans. The rainforest-themed menu also includes tree leaves. The 15-course meal, including the elephant dung dessert, costs 3,888 yuan (Rs. 45,236). This is without including drinks.

The restaurant's founders reportedly developed the rainforest-themed dishes after seven years of research. The sweet dish is prepared by turning sterilized dried elephant dung into crispy crumbs and adding herbal perfume, fruit jam, pollen, and honey sorbet.

Meanwhile, the dishes have received mixed reviews on social media. Some commented that the dish made from elephant dung was disgusting and scary. Others commented that the rich will eat anything. Several pointed out that this is a good place for those looking for diverse cuisine.
