Efforts to influence voters; food kits seized from UDF candidate’s residence

WAYANAD: Food kits have been seized from the residence of a UDF candidate. The kits were seized from the house of K Chithra, Muslim League candidate contesting in ward 5 of Emily in Kalpetta municipality at 8 pm last night. 15 kits were seized, informed Kalpetta Police.

The police and election officials reached the candidate’s house at a time when the kits were being unloaded from an auto. The food kits have been taken into custody and further actions will be taken, said Kalpetta inspector A U Jayaprakash. The LDF leaders accused the UDF for trying to influence the voters by giving food kits.
