Palakkad, Malappuram warned of strong rainfall with thunderstorms; cooler weather returns

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: According to IMD predictions, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at isolated places in Palakkad and Malappuram districts in the next three hours. Strong winds that can garner a speed of 40 km per hour are also expected in the districts.

The Indian meteorological department has also updated the rainfall forecast for the next five days. Many districts are also placed under yellow alert in fear of the incoming rains.

According to the forecast, in the next 24 hours, rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm will reach the state. These sudden downpours are a relief that has provided a respite from the dog days of summer in Kerala.
