Rs 40,000 for donating human excreta; Earn Rs 1.5 crore a year in 'poop business'

WASHINGTON: Earning good money is still a pipe dream for many, while the options remain aplenty. At a time when people are trying novel ways to earn money, including exploring digital options, a woman claimed that she earns crores every year by simply selling her own excrement (faeces).

The video shared by Simran, citing information from the website of an American company called Human Microbes, is noteworthy. Up to Rs 41,000 ($500) is being offered for donating excrement once. The young woman also claims that a person who donates regularly can earn up to Rs 1.5 crore a year. 'It is believed that your excrement can change someone's life. This is not just a crazy idea,' the young woman said in the video.

Reports also suggest that people healthier, like an athlete, will be provided with greater rewards. While it may sound funny, there are some serious medical reasons behind this. This is a method of extracting beneficial bacteria from the faeces of a healthy person and introducing them to the bodies of sick individuals. Bacteria in the gut play a major role in our digestion, metabolism, and mental health.

It is believed that those suffering from obesity, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and bipolar disorder can get relief by consuming capsules containing these bacteria. The website 'Human Microbes' was founded in 2020 by a person named Michael Harrop. Harrop's own health issues and subsequent research led him to this venture. Although they mainly operate in the United States and Canada, 'HM' also accept donors from other countries.

The video shared by the woman on March 8 has already been viewed by more than four lakh people. The video is filled with many sarcastic and curious comments.
