Sex is often cited as a cornerstone of a healthy marriage, and sexual dissatisfaction remains a significant factor in many divorces. Recently, "Orgasm Shots"—commonly known as O-Shots—have surged in popularity, with reports suggesting that a growing number of women are seeking these treatments in the days leading up to their weddings.

Clinics marketing the O-Shot claim it enhances sexual potency and intensifies orgasms. However, as these advertisements proliferate, concerns are rising regarding the scientific validity of these claims and the potential for medical scams.

The O-Shot involves a process known as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. In this method, blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the clitoris and upper vaginal wall. Proponents claim this regenerates tissue and increases sensitivity. While generally considered safe because it uses the patient’s own blood, some women report localized swelling, bruising, or itching.

Despite its popularity, the medical community remains divided. Many experts argue that female sexual dysfunction is frequently rooted in psychological factors or hormonal imbalances rather than physical tissue issues, suggesting that counseling or targeted hormonal therapy may be more effective than localized injections.

There is also a significant concern regarding the "placebo effect," where perceived benefits are purely psychological. Most alarmingly, fraudulent practices have emerged; while a legitimate O-Shot must be injected into specific genital tissues, some clinics are reportedly scamming patients by injecting "O-Shots" into the wrist or other unrelated parts of the body. These practices have no medical basis for improving sexual function and are viewed as purely predatory.
