Tattooing is a widespread fashion today, regardless of age. The younger generation is thinking about how many different parts of the body can be tattooed. People in our country mostly get tattoos on the hands, legs, chest, and stomach. However, the trend of getting 'dangerous' tattoos is also increasing.

A new finding is that 'Eyeball tattooing' is increasing. However, health experts say that there are big dangers hidden behind this and that it is possible to adversely affect vision over time. Some types of cosmetic tattoos are dangerous and can have serious consequences. Eyeball tattooing or scleral tattooing is done by injecting ink directly into the white part of the eye (eyeball) through a nano syringe. There is a possibility of such tattoos affecting vision.

Tattooing sensitive areas like the eyes can cause infections like endophthalmitis and conjunctivitis. The ink used in tattoos can enter the retina and vitreous, causing complete loss of vision. Experts say that getting tattoos inside the eyes increases the risk of serious eye problems like corneal edema, glaucoma, retinal detachment, granuloma, and allergies.

Removing scleral tattoos is just as risky as getting the tattoo inside the eyes. Removing tattoos from the eyes is a very complicated process. Only an expert ophthalmologist can successfully complete such a surgery.
