THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The excise seized a huge hoard of MDMA from the capital city. 78.78 grams of MDMA was seized from a tattoo centre functioning on S S Kovil Road in Thampanoor. The owner of the tattoo studio Majeendran, a resident of Rajaji Nagar and his assistant Shaun Aji, a resident of Peringammala, were arrested in connection with it. During the search conducted at Majeendran's house, a large amount of drug was found. He is accused in many cases including assaulting the police.

Majeendran, who previously ran a tattoo centre elsewhere, recently shifted the firm to Thampanoor. The excise team said they have customers in many places in the capital including Manaveeyam Veedhi. Many called them for the drugs even after they were arrested. They brought drugs from Bengaluru.

Tattooing takes a lot of time and has to suffer the pain. MDMA is given to those who come to get a tattoo to avoid both. They will soon become victims of this chemical poisoning. Thus, two types of business were conducted through the tattoo center. Excise said an inspection will continue in the tattoo centres of the state.
