Union Budget 2026: Nirmala Sitharaman to create history, meets President

NEW DELHI: The Union Budget, expected to outline the roadmap towards the goal of a developed India by 2047, will be presented in Parliament today at 11 a.m. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget for the ninth consecutive time, creating history. This year’s Budget presentation is also special as it is being presented on a Sunday, a rare occurrence since 1999.

Earlier in the morning, the Finance Minister met President Droupadi Murmu. After presenting the Budget to the President, she proceeded to Parliament to table it.
