THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Cabinet has decided to grant a financial assistance of ₹10 lakh each to the families of five victims of the Valparai accident who did not have insurance coverage. While the other teachers who lost their lives were covered by insurance, these five individuals were excluded from such benefits. The relief will be sanctioned from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund for the families of school bus driver Naushad Ali, school cook Sajida, Rukhiya, Shakeela, and a student named Muhammed Hisham.

In addition to the death benefits, the government has pledged to cover the complete medical expenses of those injured in the crash. This includes Muhammed Shahadin, the son of a deceased teacher; Masneen, the daughter of another teacher; and Muhammed Fahis, the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident. The tragedy occurred when a vehicle carrying teachers, staff, and family members from the Malappuram Pang Government UP School met with an accident during their journey.
