NEW DELHI: Wayanad MP and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had said during the Bharat Jodo Yatra that he desires to get married to a woman with the qualities of his mother Sonia Gandhi and grandmother Indira Gandhi. Rahul has now opened up about having a family and kids. In an interview with an Italian daily, Rahul has revealed his heart’s desire.
Openly admitting that he has thought about getting married and having children, Rahul also answers the question of why he remains single at the age of 52. Rahul said that he wasn’t sure about it.
Rahul also shares his experience in the recently concluded 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in the interview. For him, 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' was like a penance. Learned deeply about the people of India. Admitting that there is polarization between Hindus and Muslims in India, Rahul pointed to the use of communalism as a way to distract from problems like poverty and inflation. Rahul opined that under the BJP-led NDA rule, fascism has come into existence in the country and due to this, democratic institutions are crumbling. In the interview, he also emphasized the need for the opposition to unite to defeat the ruling BJP.
