Tea is one of the favourite beverages of Indians and may be the most popular as well. Who doesn't like a tea break during work hours and travel? But this is not a report about tea, it is about the income of the people who sell tea. Some tea stalls are always busy and we often wonder how much the owner of such a tea stall earns. As most of the people in Kerala prefer white-collar jobs, many tea shops opened in Kerala are by migrants, including those from our neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu.

Earnings of a tea seller

Rajvi Aggarwal, a LinkedIn user, has made a rough calculation on how much exactly a tea seller earns from this low-cost business model. This is an estimate from a fairly busy tea shop that sells an average of 1200 cups of tea or coffee per day.

This figure indicates that the tea shop owner will generate an income of Rs 7,50,000 at the end of each month. That is. This, in turn, grows into an income of Rs 90 lakh annually. Now even if the expenses for materials required for tea and coffee like tea, coffee powder, sugar, milk, water and gas cylinder are calculated, this will be around Rs 48 lakhs, giving a profit of Rs 42 lakhs.

Usually, in tea shops, the boss and worker are all the same, or a family member will be there to help. If you add small snacks to this figure, the profit will only increase. Is there any better motivation to start a tea shop?
