Manik Saha to continue as Tripura CM, to take oath on March 8

AGARTALA: Manik Saha will continue as the Chief Minister of Tripura where the BJP won absolute majority. The decision was taken in the BJP assembly party meeting. After the meeting, the BJP spokesperson said that the party MLAs had unanimously selected Saha. Saha will take over as Chief Minister for the second time on Wednesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the oath-taking ceremony.

On May 15, 2022, the BJP leadership replaced Biplab Kumar Deb and made Manik Saha as the Chief Minister. Earlier there were speculations that Manik Saha will become the Union Minister and Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik will become the Chief Minister. NDA leader and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma reached Tripura and held talks. After this, Sharma held a discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP national president JP Nadda and Chief Ministers of various BJP-ruling states will participate in the swearing-in ceremony.
