'Hinduism is built on lies'; Kannada actor Chetan arrested for hateful tweet

BENGALURU: Kannada actor Chetan Kumar who spewed abusive comments about Hinduism has been arrested. “Hinduism is built on lies” was his tweet which invited a flurry of criticism from netizens and people alike. Seshadipuram police arrested him and made him appear in court.

The actor tweeted his rabid take on March 20th. A complainant named Shivakumar approached the police saying the actor's words had everything required to elicit religious riots and they asked for his arrest. The actor in his tweet put forward the examples of Savarkar, Urigowda, and Babri Masjid as a testimony to show the fallacy behind the religion. He also said only truth can destroy Hinduism.
