Missing after slipping and falling in a pond in Chennai; body of Malayali student found

CHENNAI: The body of a Malayali student who went missing after falling into a pond in Kanchipuram has been found. The body of Muhammed Ashmil (20), a native of Nilambur, was found. The student went missing around 4 pm yesterday. A group of ten students had gone to bathe in a pond adjacent to a granite quarry. The body was found in a pond adjacent to the quarry.

The students had come for an internship at a private company in Chennai. Ashmil slipped and fell into the pond. The search continued till 8 pm last night, but Ashmil could not be found. The search was resumed this morning. Locals say that the pond is 300 feet deep.
