Patient stabs employees of Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital with scissors, cops too sustain injuries

ALAPPUZHA: A patient turned violent and attacked the employees of Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital. Madhu and Vikram, security employees of the hospital sustained injuries in the attack. The incident happened Thursday early morning at 3 am.

Devarajan of Krishnapuram was brought to the hospital this morning for injuries on his legs. He suddenly entered the nursing room and tried to attack the employees. The security guards reached there to stop him. He then took a scissors from the nursing room and stabbed them. Vikram was stabbed on his stomach.

The injured has been shifted to Vandanam Medical College. The cops who tried to catch Devarajan also sustained injuries. The accused is under treatment in police custody. His relatives said that he has been suffering from some mental issues for the past few days.
