Locals shower love on Police Commissioner who confronted goons, Commissioner says no to 'Ilango Nagar' board

THRISSUR: 'Goondas acted like goondas, police acted like police' - the board erected by locals in the name of City Police Commissioner R Ilango, who went viral on social media for saying these words, has finally been removed. The road in Nellankara, where the goonda attack took place, was named 'Ilango Nagar Nellankara' the other day. This also went viral on social media.

The locals removed this board in response to the Commissioner's request. The Mannuthi police ordered the removal of the board on the Commissioner's instructions.

A gang of goondas who had gathered for a birthday party in Nellankara had clashed with each other and attacked the police. The gang destroyed three police vehicles. Five policemen, including an SI, were injured.

The police released the poster of Commissioner R Ilango after handling and putting the goondas behind bars.

There should be a warm relationship between the people and the police. The police should be informed in time to take action against drugs and goons. Gratitude to the locals for accepting the request of the police.
