Admissions to Class 1: Cabinet meeting decide on minimum age of students

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty told the press that the Cabinet meeting to be held today will take the decision regarding the implementation of the central directive to change the Class 1 admission age to six years. The current minimum age of five years is likely to continue next academic year. In most schools, including government schools, admission for the next academic year was done for children with a minimum of 5 years of age. Today's cabinet meeting will also consider the proposal to protect 110 higher secondary English junior teachers who will be out of work on March 31 after the admissions are almost completed in CBSE schools.
