'Will chop off tongue of judge who sentenced Rahul Gandhi to jail'; DCC president makes controversial remark

CHENNAI: Dindigul DCC president Manikandan has issued a threatening statement against the judge of the Surat Court who sentenced Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to jail in the 2019 defamation case. During his speech, Manikandan said that the tongue of Judge H Varma will be chopped off when the party comes to power. Following the incident, the police registered a case against the DCC president.

Manikandan made the controversial remark during a protest organised by the SC/ST wing of Congress against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha MP.

"On March 23, the judge of the Surat court sentenced our leader Rahul Gandhi to two years in jail. We will chop off the tongue of Judge H Varma when Congress comes to power," Manikandan said.

TN Congress Leader says once they come into power they will cut the tongue of the judge who gave verdict against Rahul.
