CHANDIGARH: 36 nursing students at PGIMER National Institute of Nursing Education in Chandigarh are facing action for skipping the broadcast of the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' programme. These students have been barred from stepping out of the hostel for a week.

Earlier, the college authorities had directed the first-year and third-year students to compulsorily attend the broadcast of the 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on April 30. However, the students violated this instruction and went out. The authorities later found that 8 first-year students and 23 third-year students skipped the programme. Following this, they barred the students from going out of the hospital. However, several people have come out reacting against this action on social media.

Trinamool Congress MP reacted against the action. 'I haven’t listened to monkey baat either. Not once. Not ever. Am I going to be punished as well? Will l be forbidden from leaving my house for a week?' she wrote on Twitter.
