afghanistan

KABUL: Taliban Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada has appointed Maulvi Abdul Kabir as the interim Prime Minister of Afghanistan. The interim prime minister was appointed after the health condition of the current prime minister Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund became serious.

Muhammad Hassan Akhund has been the prime minister since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Reports say that Muhammad Hassan is suffering from heart disease. Taliban did not release further details about his health. The new Prime Minister Kabir is the leader who signed the agreement for the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.
