IMPHAL: Communal violence has reportedly been triggered again in Manipur. It is reported that one person was killed and two others were injured in the clash.
Despite the presence of the army and paramilitary forces, the conflict was not over. In the last 48 hours, no major conflict was reported in the state. Last day, the attempt to close the shops in New Checkon under the leadership of the former MLA resulted in a clash. Then the opposing faction set fire to the empty houses. With this, the conflict spread outside the capital city of Imphal.
Meanwhile, curfew and internet suspension continue in places including Imphal. The conflict started in the state after the High Court's decision to include the Meitei community, which is the main community group in the state, in the Scheduled Castes. 56 people have been killed in the riots so far.
