Violence that is crossing limits

violence-

Small-scale conflicts and aggression are common in society at any time. However, its form and appearance are changing frighteningly in the modern era. Even children are expressing a sense of extreme violence. The age-old police method of beating people mercilessly has changed a lot now. The rights of the accused are protected by law and the interventions of human rights organizations, commissions, etc. have brought about a great change in the police force itself. The entire police force has been influenced by the awareness that, beyond proving crime by physical torture, one should excel in proving crimes through intellectual and scientific investigation and based on digital evidence. In this era when even policemen are refraining from physical violence, we are going through a time when everyone needs to inquire about the reasons for the increasing sense of violence in society.

The real causes of the disease may not be discovered or solved if we blame the increasing use of drugs and excessive violence in movies and other media as the only cause of all this. In the past, there were those in leadership positions who would say, "Stop it" when conflicts between students and frequent beatings crossed their limits. Even those who were trembling with anger would obey their words. The leadership that dared to say that has disappeared even from student organizations. The incident of the student who got injured and died in a mob attack by 10th graders is not rare or isolated. What is revealed through such incidents is the reality that a dark feeling of wanting to beat someone to death is spreading in the student community.

It was a very simple issue in Thamarassery that led to the gang war that killed 15-year-old school student Muhammad Shahabas. The students clashed in the town as a result of problems that arose during a farewell function at the tuition centre. The problems started when some people howled while a dance was going on. A WhatsApp group was created and more children were called to join the gang fight as retaliation. Shahabas' mother KP Ramsina said that there were adults among those who beat Shahabas and that they hit him on the head with a weapon. The police should investigate and verify the truth behind this statement. The police have taken five students into custody. Their future remains a question mark now. The increasing number of young people who jump on the impulse of emotion without thinking about what will happen next is what is causing such incidents to happen one after the other. Discipline does not come naturally to everyone. Some people become accustomed to it only if they are taught it.

Discipline training is also needed as part of the curriculum in schools. Some countries have even implemented compulsory military service for a short period. Such training is good for making a sense of purpose and discipline a part of life during adolescence without succumbing to other weaknesses. In addition to examining whether the changes in diet and lifestyle have changed in a way that fosters a sense of violence, it is also necessary to recognize how much the excessive use of mobile phones and the unnecessary influence of social media are misleading the new generation. In any case, the first thing that needs to be done is to provide support to law enforcement agencies to prevent this excessive sense of violence and ensure that it does not happen again.
