KSRTC receives international award for work over last three years

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC has received an international award organized by Belgium-based International Association of Public Transport (UITP). KSRTC CMD and State Transport Secretary Biju Prabhakar received the award at the UITP Summit in Barcelona, Spain.

The award was handed over by Hatoshi Saimyo, chairman of UITP Asia Pacific and head of East Japan Railway Company.

UITP's expert committee considered KSRTC for this award in recognition of the restructuring activities being carried out at KSRTC over the last three years. The summit will conclude today.

East Japan Railway Company, China's Beijing Public Transport Corporation and Jakarta's Mass Rapid Transit also received awards.

Biju Prabhakar, who was invited as a panelist and speaker, explained the potential of energy conversion in India in a discussion on Energy Conversion Strategies in Bus Fleet Renewal held at the same venue yesterday.
