KOCHI: The investigating team collected evidence from Maharajas College in the case of forging certificate. A team led by DySP N Muraleedharan recorded the statements of the vice principal, former vice principal and a teacher of the Malayalam department.

Meantime, the police have not been able to find Vidya even after a week of investigation. The police said they searched for her at various places but could not find her and her phone is switched off.

The college vice principal Bindu Sharmila informed that Vidya's certificate is fake and the section number in it is wrong. She said that no guest lecturer has been appointed in the college for ten years and it is suspected that the certificate was forged using the signature and seal of the certificate issued for another scholarship.

Vidya had yesterday approached the high court seeking anticipatory bail. Her plea said the case is politically motivated and arresting her, an unmarried, will affect her future. She had informed the court that she had not forged the certificate and would fully cooperate with the investigation.
