THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A tuition teacher has been arrested in a POCSO case for kidnapping a 17-year-old girl. The medical college police arrested a 22-year-old woman of Sreekaryam and her lover aged 24 and native of Vettinad from Angamaly. The police said the youth helped the teacher to kidnap the girl.

The woman had taken tuition for the 17-year-old girl living near the medical college, earlier. However, the girl's family had lodged a complaint with the Sreekaryam police regarding the illicit relationship between the woman and the girl. The girl was kidnapped two days ago. The police arrested them from Angamaly bus stand after an investigation conducted following the complaint of the girl’s parents. The girl is a student of a private school in Thiruvananthapuram city.

The two told police that they want to live together when the girl turns 18. The girl left with her family as directed by the police.
