MUMBAI: In light of the recent coalition government formed by the BJP and Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar and other dissidents from NCP have met with NCP chief Sharad Pawar to discuss their concerns. Prabhul Patel, a former ally of Sharad Pawar prior to the NCP split was also present during the discussion. It is reported that Ajit Pawar's camp initiated the move to persuade Sharad Pawar. The aim is to ease the political tensions ahead of the upcoming assembly session scheduled for Monday. Ajit Pawar faction has taken charge of significant departments.

The meeting between the two factions took place at the Y B Chavan Centre in Mumbai. After the meeting, Prabhul Patel responded by stating that he had sought Sharad Pawar's blessings. He also expressed his desire for the NCP to remain united.

Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs who are part of the Maharashtra government underwent a cabinet reshuffle. Ajit Pawar has been appointed as the Minister of Finance and Deputy Chief Minister. The remaining eight MLAs have been assigned significant departments. This departmental division was implemented to ensure equal representation for the Ajit Pawar camp in the government despite disagreements with the NCP alliance led by the Shiv Sena-Shinde faction.

Ajit Pawar is making efforts to reconcile with his uncle, Sharad Pawar now that he and the MLAs in his camp have secured their positions in the cabinet. Ajit Pawar recently visited Sharad Pawar's wife, who was recovering from surgery and subsequently sought closer political ties.

The upcoming Assembly session on Monday holds great significance for Ajit Pawar and his supporters. It will determine the level of support that Ajit Pawar has within the NCP. The Speaker will allocate a seat to Ajit's party within the ruling party. Ajit Pawar's party claims to currently have the backing of 40 individuals.
