THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan said the Congress leadership have decided to organise Oommen Chandy's commemoration meet in Thiruvananthapuram and invite other party leaders including the chief minister for it. A decision was taken to invite the chief minister based on the advice of senior leaders. There is no need for a controversy. The leadership tried to keep everyone together. He told the media that Oommen Chandy's method was also the same.
The KPCC chief has made it clear on his response over the candidate in Puthupally. It was a news out of misunderstanding. The by-elections will be held after three four months. The Congress chief will announce the candidate when the KPCC discusses the candidate and informs it. Satheesan requested to give the right to them to decide on the candidate.
The party will announce the candidate as soon as the elections are declared in Puthupally. The candidature will be a collective decision and it will happen at the right time. Satheesan asked all leaders to stop the election talks over it. If the Congress takes a decision in announcing the candidate, will inform the UDF leadership and the announcement will be made with their consent. So far, the party has not started discussions on the candidate and it will not start immediately. The party will face the election strongly.
Satheesan also demanded that the government pay immediate attention to the Shruti Tharangam Scheme for the hearing-impaired children. Supplyco will not be able to hold the price during Onam time. Supplyco has a big liability. The opposition leader also said that what had happened to KSRTC is happening to Supplyco.
