KOZHIKODE: The IMD has warned severe rains to lash across isolated locations in Kerala. Under these circumstances, four districts have been placed on yellow alert. Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasargod, and Wayanad have been placed on orange alert. Districts including Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram are also under yellow alert.

As rains continue unabated in Kannur and Wayanad, the district collectors of these two districts have yet again announced a holiday for all educational institutions tomorrow. All educational institutions including professional colleges will remain closed in Kannur and Wayanad. Nursery schools, ICSE/ CBSE schools, and Madrasas will have to conform to the collector's order.

Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam are exempted from severe rainfall warnings. Strong winds of speeds up to 55km are expected to reach the Kerala shores in the coming days. The fishermen tribes are warned not to venture into the sea.
