SRIHARIKOTA: ISRO has successfully launched PSLV-C56 with seven satellites. The launch took place today at 6.30 am from launch pad number 1 at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. PSLV-C56 is a commercial mission of NewSpace India Limited.PSLV-56 will carry a Singapore-built earth observation satellite and six small satellites into orbit. This is the 59th launch of PSLV, ISRO's most reliable rocket.
The main mission is to put the 361.9 kg Singapore's DS-SAR satellite into orbit. The rocket will also carry small satellites Arcade, Velox AM and Orb-12 Strader and small satellites Galassia-2, Scoob-2 and NuLIoN. These satellites range in weight from 3 kg to 23.58 kg. The main satellite, DS-SAR, will separate from the rocket 21 minutes after launch. By the time twenty-four minutes have passed, the last small satellite will have separated.
