'Some party members carried my father's dead body'; Nikhila Vimal shares personal story

Actress Nikhila Vimal has revealed a certain dismal phase in her life when she had to bear all the responsibility of taking care of her ill father.

“My father lost consciousness after an accident and was bedridden in comatose for the rest of his life. It was me along with my mother and sister who took care of him. During Covid, the situation turned worse and we lost him to the pandemic.” Nikhila said.

"It was during the Covid and nobody dared to come out to help for the fear of contracting the disease. It was me along with a few party members in my village who conducted the final rituals. I did the cremation as my sister was down with covid. Even it was me who went on the fifth day to collect his ashes. I called several people for help but no one cared.”

"My mother used to teach me that in every crisis, we should depend only on family members for help. However, I was taken aback as not one family member came to our help during my father's death. The incident was a revelation, that brought out many faces from the dark and showed us their true colours." said Nikhila
