'Was interim petition filed to prolong the case?' Lokayukta dismisses interim petition in CM's relief fund misuse case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Lokayukta has dismissed the interim petition filed by petitioner R S Sasikumar in the CM's relief fund misuse case. During the hearing, the Lokayukta and Upalokayuktas asked whether the interim petition was filed to prolong the case.

The Upalokayukta severely criticized Adv. Subair Kunju who appeared for the petitioner. Upalokayukta Babu Mathew P Joseph criticized the lawyer stating that it was not right to say that things can be written down instead of raising arguments in court.

R S Sasikumar filed an interim petition seeking reconsideration in the stand that the new three-member bench of the Lokayukta will hear the case again. He also pointed out that the first Lokayukta verdict on validity in the case was not applicable to them.

Given that the High Court itself had denied the review petition, the Lokayukta questioned the relevancy of the review petition that was filed in the Lokayukta.
