On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort in New Delhi and said that India is going to enter a new era from now on.
Narendra Modi said that the country is preparing to move from 5G to 6G. He added that while India is becoming the third biggest economy in the world, it is also trying to excel in internet services by forming a 6G Task Force.
What is 6G?
6G means the next generation of internet services after 5G. With the implementation of 6G, the speed of the internet will increase by 100 times. While 5G can achieve speeds of up to ten gigabits per second, 6G is estimated to reach up to one terabit per second.
Narendra Modi clarified about 6G with a small example. He said that 6G will bring cars that can control remote factories, communicate with each other, and gadgets that can understand our emotions. The introduction of 6G will also ensure sustainability.
What is the difference between 5G and 6G?
The main difference is speed. It can even download up to a hundred movies of good quality within a minute.
6G will ensure wide facilities of digital world with super cool, holograms etc. Virtual reality will become more real. 6G will reduce the gap between digital world and real world.
Introduction of 6G
It is expected that 6G services can be launched commercially from 2030. China had launched a 6G experimental satellite equipped with a terahertz system.
