Accused in five cases, only Rs 10,000 in hand, wife has assets of half crore; Property details of BJP candidate in Puthupally

KOTTAYAM: Lijin Lal, the BJP candidate in Puthupally, has only Rs 10,000 in his hand. He has an investment of Rs 4.75 lakhs in KSFE’s Bharananganam branch. His affidavit said that he is an accused in five cases and has no debts.

His wife, a KSEB officer, has assets worth Rs 50.64 lakh including Rs 10,000 in cash, gold, fixed deposits and a car. Lijin has three sovereigns of gold and his wife has gold of 84 sovereigns. His mother and son have gold ornaments worth Rs 2.76 lakh. Lijin has land worth Rs 12 lakhs and his mother has land of Rs 25 lakhs. His nomination papers said their main income is his wife's salary and mother's pension.
