DRDO's unmanned aerial vehicle crashes during experimental flight

BENGALURU: India's indigenously made 'Tapas', a drone belonging to the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) under the Ministry of Defense has crashed. The drone collapsed in a farm field in Chitradurga, Karnataka yesterday morning.

The accident happened during an experimental flight. DRDO officials said an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of crash.

Local residents say that the drone crashed a loud noise.

Tapas was showcased for the first time at this year's Air Show in Bengaluru. Tapas is designed to be used by the Army, Air and Naval Forces.
