Happy with recognition at national film awards: Indrans

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the special mention at the National Film Awards, actor Indrans said he is happy for the recognition. Indrans won an award for his performance in the film 'Home'. Home also won the award for Best Film in Malayalam.

The actor also commented on winning the national award for his performance in the film which wasn't considered for the state award. "People get happy when they win awards, and get sad when they don't", Indrans said.

Meanwhile, Shahi Kabir bagged the best screenplay award in the Malayalam cinema category for his film Naayattu. Vishnu Mohan won the debut director award for the film Meppadiyan.

Allu Arjun was selected as the best actor at the national level for his performance in the film Pushpa. Alia Bhatt (Gangubhai Kathiavadi) and Kriti Sanon (Mimi) were selected as the best actress. The best film is Rocketry- The Nambi Effect, based on the life of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, directed by actor R Madhavan. Nikhil Mahajan won the best director award for the Marathi film Godavari.
