Modi awarded Greece's highest civilian honour

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been bestowed with the civilian honour of Greece – the Grand Cross of the Order of Honor. The President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, presented this prestigious award to the Prime Minister. Modi graciously expressed his gratitude to the Greek President upon receiving this esteemed honour. He also conveyed that the people of Greece have shown their respect for India through this gesture.

The Prime Minister is currently on a one-day visit to Greece. He arrived in Greece after attending the 15th BRICS Summit in South Africa. This visit holds special significance as an Indian Prime Minister is visiting Greece after a span of 40 years. The last such visit was by Indira Gandhi in 1983.
