BRASILIA: A woman has been arrested for killing her nine-year-old daughter, chopping her body parts, and keeping them in the refrigerator. The arrested person has been identified as 30-year-old Ruth Floriano. Police found the body parts of the child inside the fridge at the woman's house in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The woman's other two children have been shifted to the protection center. The police said that Ruth Floriano killed her child between August 8 and 9 after consuming drugs.

Brazilian Civil Police said that the woman had searched the internet to find out an "easy way" to dismember her daughter. Floriano had been living separately from her husband. It is reported that the accused told the police that her inability to accept her daughter led to the murder.

Ruth Floriano said that a young man whom she met through a dating app was also at home at the time of the murder. No further information is available about him. At first, Floriano Ruth testified that she and her boyfriend took drugs and slept together - and that her daughter was already dead when they woke up. However, she later admitted that she was the one who chopped her daughter's body and kept it in the refrigerator.

The incident came to light after the mother of Ruth Floriano's boyfriend found the body parts inside the refrigerator. Upon questioning, Floriano said that she stabbed her daughter while she was brushing her teeth. She then chopped the body parts, placed them in a refrigerator, and disposed some of them in a nearby sewer. The woman also confessed to cooking some of the body remains to destroy them.
