kk

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Chief Secretary has given directions to get rid of the pile of files in the Secretariat. Files that have been digitalized will be moved outside the office. It has been decided to auction and sell the paper waste that will be formed this way. The action is part of the Paperless Secretariat project.

Files got piled up in the secretariat due to the Covid restrictions and lockdown. At present, about two lakh files are pending. These include files relating to court proceedings, applications and appeals of property disputes, construction disputes, reports to legislative committees and follow-up proceedings, and service matters of government employees.
