HANGZHOU: India won the maiden gold medal for shooting in the 19th Asian Games. India won gold in the men's 10m air rifle team category.
The gold was won by a team of Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Rudranksh Patil. Team India achieved the world record in the 10m air rifle category. The team scored 1893.7, 0.4 points more than the previous world record. Korea is in the second place and China come third. Three Indian players have qualified for the individual final event and will compete with five other players.

Meanwhile, India also won bronze in the four-rowing event. The team of Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish secured the bronze medal with a time of 6:10.81. With this, India secured the sixth position by winning a total of seven medals with one gold, three silver and three bronze. China is first with 38 points, including 23 gold, 10 silver and five bronze. Korea is second with five gold, five silver and six bronze medals.
